I Sold His Watch Instead of My Ring
Opening scene
“Not the ring. Sell my watch.”
How it begins
At a gold-buying shop, Mio's ring is seconds from inspection when her boyfriend Jiseok frantically unstraps his own watch. “Not the ring. Sell my watch.” Owner Gahee looks it over—“Last year's model, genuine. Payment goes to her?”—and Jiseok insists: the money to Mio, the ring back to him. “You'd sell your wedding ring?” Mio sets the ring down on the cloth, perfectly calm. “Someone has to pay the rent you didn't.”
The rest, we'll show you once it's made.
Why would Jiseok hand over his own watch just to keep that ring from being inspected?
