How it begins
Fresh off the first demo of a memory-assist device, Yeoun unfolds a list of family names—but the name for Dad won't come. Hyoguk, the company's CEO, says it flatly: “Every right answer erases the name of someone you know.” Two answer cards left. Get three right and the prize is 1 million won, but the device only comes off after a wrong answer. Even when told the lost names never come back, Yeoun doesn't back down. “I can't pay Mom's hospital bills. One more.”
