How it begins
Changrok names his price, and the two of them start shouting—every yell crushed and packed into a black sphere. The instant Daeun screams "Thief!", the sphere swells and shoves the shelves aside. Changrok clamps a hand over her mouth. "If you want it to stop, don't make a sound." Daeun opens the door, and even the hinge's creak gets sucked into the sphere—the crack widens. The thing swells with every sound it swallows and shrinks in silence. Changrok wedges a rubber mat into the door gap to make a quiet way out, but Daeun grabs him and demands the deal money back.
