My Daughter's Fiancé Bet It All on the Last Hand
Opening scene
“Quit now, Mom, and you're paying off his debt.”
How it begins
At an illegal card den, Jaewan slides an engagement ring across dealer Soa's table. Soa turns the cards face down—but her daughter, Hyedam, pins her mother's hand and flips them back up. "If you quit now, Mom, you're paying off his debt." Hyedam says she has already promised a guarantee in her mother's name, and Jaewan insists that if Soa wins just one hand, all three of them can walk out. Then Soa notices: her daughter isn't looking at the ring at all. She's staring at the line in the ledger where Soa's signature goes.
The rest, we'll show you once it's made.
Is the daughter trying to save her fiancé—or chain her mother to his debt?
