The Batter Who Planned Her Strikeouts
Opening scene
“Hit the blue target within three balls and it's yours.”
How it begins
At a batting cage, Sehee fumbles the bat and laughs, so coach Dogyeom tucks a prize envelope into the netting. "Hit the blue target within three balls and it's yours." Behind her, Hochan feeds an easy pitch; her first swing sends the ball flying, but wide of the blue target. Dogyeom cries that she's been hiding her skill and tries to change the rules, but Sehee points to the three-ball deal. When her second hit also lands just beside the target, Hochan pushes Dogyeom to settle it with one last ball, same terms.
The rest, we'll show you once it's made.
